In a thrilling discussion last night thunderemerald and I discussed the need to see how similar River and Echo are. Which, duh, needs to be done. Because when Joss makes two dark-haired graceful crazy girls in his shows, I'm seeing a connection.

I liked it! Okay, I will admit, there were some points where the exposition was a bit... well, clunky, but obviously exposition is needed on the first episode of any given show just to establish what the world is. So I expect that will go away soon and we'll just go into character development and plot and all those fun things.

 I've been reading about the French New Wave critics, and auteur theory, and their views on Hitchcock and all that- and from what I understand of the definition, I think Whedon's work really defines him as such.

So, holy shit, people. I wish I could have been at Comic-Con. Not only is everyone there, not only did Neil Gaiman receive a snog from Jonathan Ross along with his Eisner Award, but Joss Whedon revealed the amazing load of stuff he's working on. And it's awesome, folks.
